
About LIT
The Limburg Immersive Technology (LIT) network is the result of a strategic partnership between Maastricht University and Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. Specifically, LIT is a collaboration between Maastricht University’s DEXLab and Zuyd University of Applied Sciences Food Experience Lab (FXL), two research facilities that explore immersive technologies in different contexts.
The aim of LIT is to expand and strengthen the collaboration between these research labs, offering a multidisciplinary approach to immersive technology research and education. Furthermore, LITs aim is to engage with organizations in Limburg working with immersive technologies in various industries. By doing so LIT is bringing together ongoing and new projects around immersive technologies.
Firstly, the LIT objective is to map and develop the immersive technology ecosystem in Limburg, fostering a thriving network of researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers. Secondly, by establishing shared infrastructure and driving innovative projects, LIT aims to create a collaborative environment where academia, businesses, and decision-makers actively contribute to advancements in immersive technologies. Thirdly, LIT is committed to enhancing employability in the region by connecting students, startups, and companies so that Limburg becomes a leading hub for immersive technology innovation.

Food Experience Lab (FXL) at Zuyd's Hotel Management School Maastricht is an innovation playground focused on future food experiences. It leverages immersive technologies, 3D food printing, and physiological measurement tools to prototype and test sustainable, impactful food solutions.
